The Lost Pigeon

During the past several weeks, Our local Rock Dove (and Feral Pigeon) Population was joined by a Racing Pigeon. It has flown at least 25 miles over the sea to get here as no one keeps racing pigeons on the island. 'Percy' has not been seen for the last few days and who knows what has happened to him.

In my last blog, I published an artical about racing pigeons getting lost and what eventually happens to them. It will give you a brief insight about my experiences of our feathered racing friends.

Baa Ram Ewe

Hundreds of sheep calls Fair Isle their home with around 400 of them (Shetland sheep) live wild in the north of the island. At this time of the year they get rounded up so the lambs can get dosed (For worms) and castrated while the ewes and rams get there annual hair cut. This gives us photographers a chance to get up close with our wooly jumpers.
