Photogenic Puffins

In 2012, Fair Isle has had over 10,000 Puffins visiting its shores to breed on the cliff tops. There is no natural land predators making this comical seabird very approachable where you can get extremely close. This in turn gives you a ample supply of photographic oppotunities!

Ringed Plover

The next two photos are those of the Ringed Plover taking in different light settings.

One of my favourite photos with the Ringed plover standing on a boulder
with sea pinks in front of him. The light was just perfect.

This little chap was down on the edge of the rocks at south light on Fair Isle.
The light had started to change as the sun was getting ready to set.
There was a slight yellow glow about the evening

Da Wheatear

The Northern Wheatear is a long distance migrant which breeds in the UK and winters south of the Sahara Desert in Africa. Summer is the best time to photograph these small hardy migrants.

I discovered she was hanging around with her mate
of which they had a nest in the stone wall.

The next two photos were pretty random photos of male Wheatears which I thought stood out.

This Male Chicks had just fledged was trying to
distract me away from them.

Sheep in Evening light

The first day I got my lens turned out to be a beautiful evening for a Sunset. I therefore headed to the west cliffs of Fair isle where a couple of Shetland Sheep turned out to be great subjects to photograph.

The next three shots were taken  at the Skaddan (Fair isle) in 2010 of where my purpose was to have a go of sheep silhouettes with the evening sky.

Welcome to my new blog, Here you will be able to see some of my photography. I just love taking pictures for people like you to enjoy. Im only an amature and there is still alot to learn. Im based on Fair Isle for the next 5 months which has some  of the most spectacular scenery and is host to thousands of Seabirds.. Here is just a couple of photos for you enjoy!!
